This post struck me as significant in that it suggests Obama has chosen not to build a coalition of special interest groups through targetted pitches to each (the pro-choicers, the environmentalists, the unions, the blacks, the gays, etc., etc., etc.) The problem with that model, which has been the Dem strategy for decades now, is that after a victory each group feels they are owed something and make demands without considering the bigger picture, making it difficult to lead effectively.
Also, I enjoyed this video intv with Howard Dean (although he seems kind of grumpy or something).
