effigy party photoblogging

Last night we went to an "effigy party," in which partygoers were invited to throw the past eight years into the fire. It was quite cathartic. People made representations of things like "torture," "Katrina," etc., and as they were placed on the fire one by one the crowd would say "peace out torture!," "peace out Katrina!," etc.
